Six years later, Lewis L. came to Canton and for eight years acted in the capacity of Steward of the Poor Farm, afterwards he carried on farming in Orion Twp. He departed this life in 1902, his wife passing away in 1903. Thomas Jones received his education in the common schools of Fulton Co., and was reared on his father's farm. He was appointed Superintendent of Streets by Mayor Hanlon and has made an excellent record in discharging the duties of that office.
